According to the Hollywood Reporter, Emile Hirsch is in talks to star in the upcoming live action version of "Speed Racer". The movie is based on the cartoon of the same name from the 1960s. The TV show was about a young race car driver named Speed and his hi-tech car, Mach 5. The movie will also be featuring other characters from the show such as Racer X, and Speed's family.
The movie is set for release on May 9, 2008 and is being produced by Joel Silver.
