The Hangover was the box office surprise hit of 2009, earning more than $467 million worldwide during its theatrical run, making it the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all time. Currently the film is nominated by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for a Golden Globe in the category Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical. It also received a Critics' Choice Award nomination for Best Comedy, and was named one of the Top Ten films of the year by AFI.
The record-breaking performance of The Hangover was one of a number of milestones reached by Warner Home Video, which remains the market share leader in Total Video sales as well as the segment Total Blu-ray for 2009. Market share leader categories also include Theatrical Catalog Video, Family and Animation Catalog and TV on Video (DVD and BD combined).

Pictures presents, in association with Legendary Pictures, a Green Hat Films Production of a Todd Phillips Movie, The Hangover, starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Heather Graham, Justin Bartha and Jeffrey Tambor. The film is directed by Phillips from a screenplay by Jon Lucas & Scott Moore. Todd Phillips and Dan Goldberg produced, with Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, William Fay, Scott Budnick, Chris Bender and J.C.
