"The Dark Knight Rises", which will be opening in theaters tonight at midnight, is already posing a threat to "The Avengers" for beating their opening weekend sales. According to Fandango, domestic box office online ticket sales of the film make up 91% of Thursday's total sales.
The widely anticipated film has already earned $25 million in pre-sales in North America alone. Foreign market totals should be announced later on today.
