The tragedy took place at a theater in Aurora, CO. Calls started pouring into 911 around 12:30 a.m. after suspect James Holmes kicked down an emergency door, threw in a smoke bomb, and began shooting at patrons as they tried to escape.
Warner Bros. released a statement about the event:
"Warner Bros. is deeply saddened to learn about this shocking incident. We extend our sincere sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims at this tragic time."
