"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", the first in the latest trilogy to be released by Peter Jackson, made some decent earnings this past weekend, despite the fact that film won't even be opening until next month.
Fandango reported that the film took in about 33% of the online sales on Wednesday, the first day they were made available.
"An Unexpected Journey" will be released in the US on December 14, followed by "The Desolation of Smaug" in 2013 and "There and Back Again" in 2014.
