New Tomb Raider Film Making Progress
The new "Tomb Raider" film, which has been plugging along at a slow pace, has gotten a bit of a boost from the latest video game release.

The game has sold 3.4 million copies, and while some say that number is disappointing, the fact that the game is from an older franchise shows that the sales aren't quite as bad as they think.  It also shows that people are still interested in the franchise, and will most likely still go see a "Tomb Raider" film as well.

The film rights were purchased by GK Films in 2011 and now they are owned by MGM.  The new project will be a collaboration between the two studios and producer Graham King said, viz a press release,  "I am thrilled to partner with Gary and his MGM team on rebooting this successful ‘Tomb Raider' film franchise. The enthusiasm over the recent game release is very encouraging and we can't wait to bring it to the big screen."

There hasn't been any announcement made as far as a screenwriter, director, or actors are concerned, but hopefully with the renewed confidence in the franchise, the project will start making some more head way.
