The creators of the game, Don Bluth and Gary Goldman, have decided to start a Kickstarter campaign that will fund the beginnings of the project. The are looking to raise $550,000 to be able to create the trailer for the project, which will, in turn, be used to gather investors for the film. It is estimated that the film could cost upwards of $70 million.
Bluth is a former Disney animator and Goldman has also been in the industry for a long time. They worked together on films such as "Secret of NIMH," "An American Tail," "The Land Before Time" and "All Dogs Go To Heaven." All successful ventures. They said they film will provide the back story of Dirk the Daring, who, in the game, is a knight who tries to rescue Princess Daphne.
The Kickstarter campaign has already raised almost $73,000, and there is still 28 days to go. If you would like to contribute, click here.
