David madden, Fox's president of entertainment, said, "We are over the moon with the performance. So far, the response has been really encouraging."
Madden did say that official talks have nut begun yet with show creator Chris Carter, but many are saying that there's a strong possibility of it returning.
David Duchovny had said in the past that he wouldn't be up for doing a 22 show season, and Gillian Anderson has other projects on her plate, so another season is still very much up in the air, though there is quite a demand for it.
The X-Files miniseries finale airs Tuesday, February 23 at 10 p.m. on Fox.
