Danny Boyle has been set to take over the directing duties for the upcoming James Bond film. This will be the 25th film in the iconic franchise. Boyle will fill the seat that Sam Mendes left.
Boyle stated in an interview, "We are working on a script right now. And it all depends on that really". He went on to say, "I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in six or seven weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now. We've got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away."
Boyle has experience working with Hodge, most recently for last year's T2 Trainspotting.
Daniel Craig will return to the franchise as Bond for a fifth and final time. The film, appropriately titled Bond 25, is slated for November 8, 2019 release.
