CW Orders Batwoman Pilot
The CW has given an order for a "Batwoman" pilot. The series will star Ruby Rose (John Wick: Chapter 2).

Batwoman will be the first superhero series to feature a gay character as the lead. Rose will play the lead, Kate Kane, who according to the CW's official description, is a "highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence. But don't call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope."

Davis Nutter (Game of Thrones, Arrow, The Flash) will be directing the pilot of the series from creators Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television and writer Caroline Dries. Dries will executive produce alongside Nutter, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and DC Entertainment president Geoff Johns through his Mad Ghost Productions banner.
