"Dexter" will be making a comeback. Showtime has announced that it will be bringing the series back for a limited-series revival.
Michael C. Hall will reprise his role for the 10-episode revival, as well as showrunner Clyde Phillips.
"Dexter is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago. We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it, and we can't wait to shoot it and show it to the world," said Gary Levine, Co-President of Entertainment at Showtime.
The series originally aired from 2006 to 2013 and followed the life of Dexter Morgan, a Miami Police Department blood splatter expert by day and serial killer by night.
There's no word on plot detail yet. The series will begin production in early 2021 and is slated for a Fall 2021 release.
