Dustin Diamond, who famously played Screech on "Saved by the Bell", has died. He was 44.
He was diagnosed just weeks ago with carcinoma. According to his reps, "In that time, it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution. Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful."
After playing Screech in various incarnations of the "Saved By the Bell" franchise, Diamond starred in "Celebrity Big Brother" and wrote a book titled "Behind the Bell".
Diamond was married to Jennifer Misner from 2009- 2013.
