Netflix and 21 laps will be adapting Raymond Villareal's book "A People's History of the Vampire Uprising". Travis Knight, who directed the Oscar-nominated "Kubo and the Two Strings", has signed on to direct.
Titled "Uprising", the film will follow the story of a global outbreak that turns people into vampires. It focuses on CIA agent Lauren Webb, who is working to figure out all she can to help understand and defeat the virus.
Knight also directed "Bumblebee" and has worked on "The Boxtrolls", "ParaNorman" and "Coraline".
Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen will produce through 21 Laps from a script written by Jeremy Slater.
