HBO and HBO Max Subscribers Rise Above Projections

HBO and HBO Max have announced that they have risen above company projections for subscribers at the end of 2021. Combined, they total 73.8 million, with their projections aimed for 70 million to 73 million.

Now streaming in 46 countries, this was "the year that HBO Max broke through" according to WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar.

HBO Max debuted in May 2020 and has continued to become available around the globe; however, they are still years away from launching in the UK, Italy, and Germany. They have prior distribution deals with Sky in those countries.
