Masters Of The Universe Live Action Movie Back On Track

The Masters of the Universe movie is back on track, with Kyle Allen, of West Side Story, set to take over the lead.

The project, which previously starred Noah Centineo in the role of He-Man/Prince Adam has landed on Netflix. The live-action film will tell the origin story of orphaned Adam's discovery that he's a prince whose destiny is to save a land far away from his nemesis, Skeletor.

Masters of the Universe was a Sony Pictures project when Centineo was in the starring role, but Mattel has moved the project over to the streamer.  The Nee Brothers will co-direct the movie, which is based on a screenplay they wrote with David Callaham.  Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch will produce the movie.

Mattel continues to grow the Masters of the Universe franchise.
