Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan will team up for the next chapter in the I Am Legend franchise. Warner Brothers is bringing back the original star, but he'll be joined by Black Panther actor Michael B. Jordan. This will mark the first big project together as stars and producers. Their movies combined have grossed more than $12 billion at the box office.
While the plot and other details are still a closely-guarded secret, Oscar winner, Akiva Goldsman, who adapted the 1954 novel, will return to write the follow-up and produce as well. No director has been named as of yet.
I am Legend starred Smith in an apocalyptic New York City among zombies. It opened to $77.2 million at the domestic box office and ultimately grossed $585.4 million worldwide. This news comes in the wake of Smith being nominated for Best Actor and Best Picture at the Oscars, as well as a SAG Awards Best Actor win for King Richard.
