Danny and Michael Philippou will once again team up with A24 to release a sequel to the recently released horror film "Talk to Me".
The film will be written by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman, and directed by Danny and Michael Philippou.
Prior to the film's release, Danny Philippou had said in an interview that he would "start writing other scenes, scenes of different people experiencing the hands, continuing on these characters' story. So, there are scenes for a sequel, yeah."
A24 acquired the Australian horror film from Sundance's Midnight section, securing it for a substantial seven-figure sum. The film has achieved impressive success in the domestic market, amassing a box office total of $22 million up to yesterday. This places it among A24's most successful horror films to date. In its first 11 days, "Talk to Me" has outperformed the cumulative earnings of Ari Aster's "Midsommar" ($17.3 million), exceeded last year's "Bodies Bodies Bodies" final domestic earnings ($11.4 million), and is on track to surpass the domestic box office earnings of "The Witch" ($25.4 million). While the film is currently trailing behind A24's highest-grossing horror film, "Hereditary," which concluded with a domestic total of $44 million, it continues to perform well.
