Lionsgate has decided to bring back a mask mandate at its flagship office at 2700 Colorado Ave. in Santa Monica. The move, which will be in effect for nearly half of its company, comes after several employees have tested for Covid.
"Employees must wear a medical grade face covering (surgical mask, KN95 or N95) when indoors except when alone in an office with the door closed, actively eating, actively drinking at their desk or workstation, or if they are the only individual present in a large open workspace," said in an email memo by Sommer McElroy, Response Manager for Lionsgate/Starz.
Not only will the mask mandate be put in place, but every Lionsgate employee is required to test themselves prior to coming to the office each day. If they are showing symptoms of Covid, or have done any international travel, they are to notify McElroy and stay home.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has reported "small increases in COVID-19 indicators over the past four weeks indicating increased transmission; however, the statement stressed that "overall metrics remain at a low level of concern."
