Academy Award® winner George Miller is set to be honored with the prestigious CinemaCon® International Career Achievement in Filmmaking Award, it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. The official convention of NATO, CinemaCon, will be hosted from April 8-11, 2024, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where Miller will receive this esteemed accolade during the International Day Lunch and Awards ceremony on April 8.
"George Miller, an archetypal storyteller, has transformed the imaginations of moviegoers worldwide, forever altering the cinematic landscape," noted Neuhauser. "His filmmaking serves as a testament to his enduring impact and inspiration. We are thrilled to present him with this year's ‘CinemaCon International Career Achievement in Filmmaking Award.'"
Returning to the big screen on May 24, 2024, with Warner Bros. Pictures' Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, George Miller brings forth his highly anticipated venture back into the dystopian universe he first crafted over three decades ago. Featuring a stellar cast including Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, the film embarks on a new narrative journey, delving into the origins of the formidable character from the acclaimed Mad Max: Fury Road. Set against a backdrop of chaos, young Furiosa is thrust into a perilous journey from the Green Place of Many Mothers into the clutches of the formidable Biker Horde led by the Warlord of Dementus. Amidst the struggle for dominance between two tyrants, Furiosa must navigate trials to find her way back home. Alyla Browne and Tom Burke also star in the film, produced by Miller and his longtime collaborator, Doug Mitchell, under their Kennedy Miller Mitchell banner.
