Elizabeth Taylor Passes Away at the Age of 79
Elizabeth Taylor, legendary actress from the Golden Age of Hollywood, has died today. She was 79.

The actress has suffered for years from various health issues, but most recently was hospitalized for six weeks and died there from congestive heart failure.

Taylor was a child actress who starred in "National Velvet" and was able to transition into an adult actor seamlessly with roles in "Giant", "Cleopatra", Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" and "Butterfield Eight".  She won Academy Awards for the two latter films.

She used her fame to raise awareness for the plight of those who suffer from HIV/AIDS.

Liz is survived by her children, Michael Wilding and Christopher Wilding, Liza Tivey and Maria Carson, brother Howard Taylor; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
