The show will be based on the Mary Doria Russell novel, "Doc". The novel was set in the time before what most us relate Doc Holliday to - Tombstone. The show will show Holliday as a dentist and southern gentleman who is pushed into the world of the "Wild West". The show is said to also possibly explore a love triangle relationship between Holliday, his wife, Kate, and Wyatt Earp.
The show's pilot will be directed by Ron Howard and Adam Cooper and Bill Collage will be writing the script.
