Rooney Mara to Star in Side Effects

Rooney Mara, star of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", has just signed on to "Side Effects", a thriller directed by Steven Soderbergh. This will be Mara's first lead role since her Ocsar nominated portrayal as Lisbeth Salander in "Dragon Tattoo".

Mara has been offered a shot at a number of roles, such as the female lead in an upcoming film about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. She had declined due to scheduling conflicts.

The film, written by Scott Z. Burns, will begin shooting in April.
