Warner Bros. Sets Date For Final Hobbit Film
Warner Bros. and MGM have announced that they will be releasing "The Hobbit: There and Back Again", the last in the trilogy, on July 18, 2014. They have also announced that the new title for the second film will now be "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug." All three films have been shot in 3D.

Warner domestic distribution prexy, Dan Fellman, said, "We wanted to have a shorter gap between the second and third films of 'The Hobbit' Trilogy. Opening in July affords us not only the perfect summer tentpole, but fans will have less time to wait for the finale of this epic adventure."

"The Hobbit: An Unexpexted Journey" is set for a Dec. 14 release; the sequel is slated for Dec. 13, 2013.
