New Regulations for Movie Trailers on the Horizon
The National Association of Theater Owners is said to be rallying for new guidelines for film trailers that would limit the length to two minutes.

Currently, the limit is set at two and a half minutes, with some exceptions being allowed, such as the three minute trailer for the upcoming "Man of Steel". Many already feel the length of trailers are too long, giving away too much of the story.

Other considerations being taken are a possible mandatory release date on all marketing materials, and even a ban on marketing materials for films that are more than four months from being released.
