Sony to Bring Dark Tower to the Big Screen
Sony pictures, along with MRC, has taken on developing the film adaptation of "The Dark Tower". Sony will be distributing the first film of what will most likely become a multi-film franchise.

"The Dark Tower" novels are set in a magical world that revolves around a gunslinger named Roland Deschain.  The first film is based on the first book in the series titled "Gunslinger" and will be a blend of fantasy and horror.  The script was written by Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner.

No casting news has been announced as of yet, but rumors have been swirling that many stars are eyeing the part, including Russell Crowe and Javier Bardem.
