Cruise Reveals Title to Top Gun Sequel
During a recent interview, Tom Cruise revealed what the title will be for the upcoming "Top Gun" sequel.  In a nod to his character in the film, it will be titled "Top Gun: Maverick".

"Aviators are back, the need for speed. We're going to have big, fast machines. It's going to be a competition film, like the first one … but a progression for Maverick," said Cruise.

The actor said that he has wanted to make this sequel for years now and that it will be "stylistically" similar to the 1986 original.

"Top Gun: Maverick" will be produced by Skydance CEO David Ellison and Jerry Bruckheimer, along with Cruise.
