Chris Columbus to Direct Five Nights at Freddy's Adaptation
It was announced that Chris Columbus will be writing, directing, and producing Blumhouse's Five Nights at Freddy's, an adaptation of the popular video game by Scott Cawthon. 

Blumhouse announced the news via Twitter, saying, "Mr. Columbus, are you ready for Freddy? #FiveNightsatFreddys"

The game was launched in 2014 and became immensely popular. The franchise is comprised of 6 games, with each of the games mobile apps release ranking at the top of Android and iOS stores. The franchise also includes a series of books and merchandise.

Columbus will be producing alongside game creator Cawthon and Jason Blum. His credits include Home Alone, Mrs. Doubtfire, and the first two Harry Potter films, as well as Gremlins and The Goonies, just to name a few.
