Sopranos Prequel Heading to the Big Screen
From 1999-2007, Sopranos was a huge hit for HBO and garnered a huge following. When the series ended, many people felt cheated out of a traditional ending that would bring some closure. Instead, we saw the screen go black and the rest is history. Well, there may be some consolation for fans, as a prequel film has been developed by series creator, David Chase.

The screenplay, co-written with Sopranos writer Lawrence Konner, has been purchased by New Line and will take place in Newark in the 1960s. The film will include tensions that were high in that era between the gangsters of both the African-American and the Italian communities. There aren't many details being released yet but, supposedly, we will see some familiar characters from the series.

Chase will be producing the film with Chase Films' Nicole Lambert executive producing.
