Dune Series Coming to WarnerMedia Streaming Service
"Dune: The Sisterhood" has been given a straight-to-series order by WarnerMedia's streaming service. The series is from Legendary Television.

The series will be set in the same universe as the "Dune" novels by Frank Herbert and will tell the story of a mysterious order of women called the Bene Gesserit. There will also be a film from director Denis Villeneuve, who commented about the news of the series.

"The Bene Gesserit have always been fascinating to me. Focusing a series around that powerful order of women seemed not only relevant and inspiring but a dynamic setting for the television series", said Villeneuve.

There was a three-part mini-series released in 2000 based on the novels, as well.

Villeneuve will be directing the pilot episode with Jon Spaihts writing.
