10,000 B.C. Director, Ronald Emmerich, Finishes Script For Next Apocalyptic Film, 2012
According to Variety, Ronald Emmerich, creator of the upcoming "10,000 B.C." film, has finished the script to yet another apocalyptic film titled, "2012".  He co-wrote the script with Harald Kloser.

The film is about a family that is on vacation in December 2012, the end of the Mayan calendar.   The film goes into the theories that many have had about the apocalypse that is thought to occur when the ancient calendar ceases on Dec. 21, 2012.

The film is expected to be released in the summer of 2009 by Sony Pictures.
