Esteemed actor Jeff Bridges has confirmed his return to the digital world in the upcoming film "Tron: Ares." In a recent interview on the Film Comment podcast, Bridges disclosed his involvement in the third installment of the iconic sci-fi franchise. This news marks a significant moment for fans who have long awaited Bridges' reprisal of his role as Kevin Flynn, a character he first portrayed in the groundbreaking film "Tron" back in 1982, followed by "Tron: Legacy" in 2010.

The latest addition to the "Tron" series, "Tron: Ares," boasts an impressive cast, with Jared Leto taking the lead as the titular character Ares. Directed by Joachim Rønning, known for his work on "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil," and scripted by Jesse Wigutow and Jack Thorne, the film promises a fresh take on the beloved franchise while staying true to its innovative roots.

Bridges expressed excitement about collaborating with Leto, saying, "I'm heading off this Saturday to play a part in the third installment of the ‘Tron' story. Jared Leto is the star of this third one. I'm really anxious to work with him. I've admired his work." Additionally, he hinted at changes in the production approach, noting a shift towards practical sets over heavy reliance on CGI, a departure from the previous film's aesthetic.

While details about Bridges' character remain under wraps, speculation arises regarding his role in the narrative. With the storyline reportedly focusing on Leto's character and his journey between the digital and human worlds, fans eagerly await further revelations about the plot and Bridges' character arc.

Despite uncertainties, anticipation is high for "Tron: Ares," as it promises to reignite the immersive universe that captivated audiences decades ago.
