Ready or Not 2 Officially Announced: Sequel to Cult Horror Hit in Development

It's official: "Ready or Not 2" is in development, with the news revealed by the filmmaking duo Radio Silence at a special Searchlight Pictures screening. The sequel to the 2019 cult horror hit, first propelled Radio Silence into the spotlight. 

Though the announcement teased the production, details about the start of filming and an official release date are still forthcoming. The original "Ready or Not" introduced Samara Weaving as the lead actress and won audiences over with its blend of horror and dark humor. 

Weaving expressed her excitement for the sequel saying, "I'm all in. I think we're all in, I don't know. I think we're all in…I don't know if we've had our blood handshake, but pretty much. We've done the spit handshake, but we haven't cut each other's hands and rubbed our blood together."

The sequel is being overseen by VP of Production Richard Ruiz and Creative Executive Cornelia Burleigh, while the original writers, Guy Busick and Ryan Murphy, return to write and executive produce the next installment.

"Ready or Not" was a surprise hit, grossing $57.6 million worldwide on a modest $6 million budget.
